Broccoli is always an easy and healthy side dish but making it on the grill is extra special. You get the beautiful crunch and smoke-infused flavor with every bite of these grilled broccoli. There are only six simple ingredients but all work perfectly to bring the best flavor to this easy side dish.
GRILLED BROCCOLI
Say you go some delicious, marinated chicken on the grill and you’re excited (and possibly starting to drool). You can’t wait to take a bite of your dinner but you can’t just have meat for dinner, right? Well, I’m sure you could but it’s better to have some sides.
Broccoli is one of my go-to healthy sides to serve with grilled and smoked meats. It’s healthy, light, and goes well with all the meats. It also takes only a few minutes to put together and a few minutes to grill. I throw it on the grill during the last 8-10 minutes of the meat’s cooking time and it’s all ready at the same time.
To make it fun, try to combine broccoli and cauliflower. You can toss both of them with the same seasoning and it will take the same amount of time to cook. Both taste great infused with smokey grill flavors and those crunchy ends are so addicting.

HOW TO GRILL BROCCOLI
Start the coals and build a two-zone fire when coals are ready. (Or set your gas grill to medium.) Close the lid and let the grill preheat for about 10 minutes. Make sure the grill grate is clean and seasoned.
Note: I often grill vegetables during the last few minutes of the time it takes to grill the meat.
Place broccoli florets in a large mixing bowl and drizzle oil and vinegar over the top. Sprinkle salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and lemon zest. Toss broccoli to coat it well in seasonings.
Spread seasoned broccoli florets in a vegetable grilling basket and place on the grill, over direct heat. Grill broccoli, tossing it every few minutes, for 8-10 minutes. You can cook it a little longer if you want it softer. (If broccoli is charring too much, move it to indirect heat.)
